David Alaba's Agent to 'Start Talks' With Chelsea & PSG Over Summer Move

David Alaba's agent has confirmed he will hold talks with Chelsea over a summer move for the Austrian international, while Paris Saint-Germain are also in the frame.

Alaba's contract expires in June and he will be free to discuss pre-contract terms from January, with Bayern Munich seemingly no longer interested in extending his deal after talks broke down earlier this year.

Basically every major club on the continent has expressed an interest in the utility man at one point or another. 90min recently learned that, with the player open to a move to the Premier League, Liverpool and Manchester City have added their names to the list of potential suitors.

In an interview with BILD's Christian Falk, however, Pini Zahavi - the player's long-term representative - confirmed that Chelsea are at the front of the queue.

Zahavi also names French champions PSG, and there is no reason to believe that either club will pass up the opportunity to sign the versatile defender on a free.

His availability comes after Bayern president Herbert Hainer spoke last month, and didn't seem too pleased with Zahavi's conduct in contract negotiations. He confirmed that the club have withdrawn their offer, and that there is no longer an avenue for him to remain at Bayern beyond 2021.

“We presented him with a really, very good, very fair, competitive offer - especially during these times," Hainer said.

“We told David's agent during the last meeting that we wanted clarity and an answer by the end of October because we want to plan for such an important position and player. But we haven't heard anything until Saturday.

“Our sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic then contacted the agent and the answer was that the offer is still unsatisfying and that we should think more. We then decided to take the offer off the table completely. That means there is no longer any offer.”
