Koeman Lads Still Up And Aiming High In League

Premiership experts have had few title favourites on their mind for this season. However, one of them were definitely not Southampton. With Graziano Pelle in front, Saints are the 'hot stuff' right now and have found true form to achieve top.

With a 2-1 loss against Liverpool on the opening match of the season, who bought a few Soton stars, it was tough to expect even a better season than the previous one at St. Mary's. The only draw until now, came six days later, in a goalless clash with West Bromwich Albion in their first home match.

Then it was only win, win and win throughout the September. A narrow defeat at White Hart Lane didn't slow down the lads who have humiliated Sunderland with a record 8-0 rejoicing. In the meantime, both the newly capped Italian striker and his manager, have deservedly won Player and Manager of the Month award.

Pelle now shares fourth position with Diafra Sakho from West Ham on top scorers list. He scored two out of those six against Newcastle United and two more in a Sunderland blast a week ago. The second of Southampton players following is Morgan Schneiderlin with only three goals.

Sadio Mane ensured new victory on October 25 with one ball behind Asmir Begovic, sending Stoke squad home without any points. Chelsea, who haven't lost a single game yet, lead the table with 23 points. Koeman and co. are following with 19 points, whilst the Citizens are trying to catch them with two less than the runners-up.

This year may be the one for unexpected title fighters who manage to pleasantly surprise the fans in red and white over and over again.
