Former Liverpool youth labelled the 'new Ribery' released

The player who once drew comparison with Frank Ribery and with such potential that he spent time in Germany has today been released by League One Barnsley by mutual consent.

The 22-year-old winger Dale Jennings was a former Liverpool youth and was considered to be one that got away after a sensational season at Tranmere Rovers which led to his move to Bayern Munich where he played for their second team Bayern Munich II before heading back to England. Jennings was at Munich for two seasons where he was enrolled into their academy system between 2011 -2013.

Jennings signed for Barnsley on a three-year deal for £250k in 2013 but the player failed to fulfil his potential, finishing with a relegation in his first season and a loan spell with MK Dons.

The player is young enough to take stock and fight back although the chances of the player being compared again with Frank Ribery are more remote but the potential remains.
