The Wimbledon ticket trick that few are aware of

Wimbledon Tennis Championships operate a ballot system in order to purchase tickets, which essentially constitutes each applicant sending off a form before names are drawn out of a hat. However, the ballot is always oversubscribed, and as such, many are left disappointed by the lack of a ticket arriving on their doorstep in the weeks leading up to Wimbledon.

But, other than the gut-wrenching ballot and the dodgy ticket touts, there is another way of obtaining premium tickets for Wimbledon; resale on Ticketmaster. Each day, at 9am and 12pm, a limited amount of tickets are made available on the Ticketmaster website for Centre Court and Court 3 – both tickets include a ground pass for the whole of Wimbledon. The tickets available are returns from those who had success in the ballot before being unable to attend on their obtained day.

My brother and I were unsuccessful in the ballot too, but fortunately, because we knew of this ticket sale opportunity, we managed to secure Wimbledon tickets for yesterday and tomorrow. As we saw in the Olympics, ticket resale opportunities appeared to sell out within a millisecond of the tickets becoming available, however, on this occasion, there seemed to be very limited demand for the tickets, and we secured them easily, simply by loading the page at 9am this morning.

So, for those left heartbroken at missing out on securing tickets for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, try Ticketmaster at 9am and 12pm one day, and you may find yourself watching Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray producing a sublime display of Centre Court tennis.
