Alexander Zverev reaches semi-finals in Munich

German teenager Alexander Zverev knocked out top seed David Goffin to book his place in the semi-finals of the BMW Open in Munich.

The 19-year-old won 6-3 4-6 6-3 to go within two matches of a maiden tour title.

Third seed Dominic Thiem awaits in the last four after he beat Ivan Dodig 6-4 4-6 6-3, and has already tasted victory in Acapulco and Buenos Aires this season.

Last year's runner-up Philipp Kohlschreiber made light work of quarter-final opponent Juan Martin Del Potro, taking just an hour and 20 minutes over his 6-4 6-1 success.

He will be up against Fabio Fognini next, after the Italian ousted Jozef Kovalik 6-2 3-6 7-5.
