When rumours started to circulate late last week that Missy Elliot would be performing with Katy Perry at the Super Bowl, everyone aged 20+ dusted off their cropped tops and combat trousers and prepared to relive their adolescent hip hop phase.
But while some of us lost our shiz the second we heard the “DUNG DANGA NANGA DUN” riff from Get Ya Freak On, the younger generation had no idea what they were witnessing. Yep, not only do kids these days not know that Paul McCartney was one of the Beatles, they also have no idea who the eff rap legend Missy Elliot is.
