Wales midfielder Andy King is on a Paris mission to impress Leicester's new French manager Claude Puel.
The Dragons meet France for the time in 35 years on Friday night after the heartbreak of missing out on next summer's World Cup in Russia.
And Leicester midfielder King plans to seize the opportunity after starting the first two games of Puel's Foxes' reign on the bench.
"I haven't spoken to him (Puel) about the game," King said ahead of the Stade de France friendly.
"But I am aware that he will probably be watching and supporting France on Friday.
"So hopefully if I can put in a good performance against his team then he'll give me a go at Leicester.
"I've worked with a lot of managers at Leicester and from what I've seen in the last couple of weeks, Claude is up there with some of the best we've had at the club.
"He has the players right behind him straight away and I've been really impressed by him."
Wales start the healing process of last month's World Cup elimination with two friendlies in five days.
The visit to France is followed by a home game against surprise World Cup finalists Panama on Tuesday.
"It will be good for us to get back out there and try to put the disappointment of not making the World Cup behind us," King said.
"France are one of the top teams in the world, possibly even the favourites going into the World Cup.
"But I think we've earned the right to be playing against those sort of teams with the form we've shown over recent years.
"These are the games you want when you represent your country, and it is going to be a good test for us."
It remains to be seen whether these two games will mark the end of manager Chris Coleman's near six-year reign.
Talks between Coleman and the Football Association of Wales over a new contract are set to resume later this month.
But Coleman is expected to provide a look into Wales' future by handing the likes of Ben Woodburn, Ethan Ampadu and David Brooks game time over the next week.
"There are a lot of young players coming through," King said.
"We've seen a glimpse of Ben, Ethan has played in the (Carabao) cup for Chelsea and has done really well, and Brooksy has been scoring goals for Sheffield United.
"They have got good heads on their shoulders and they are willing to learn, so that can only be good for the future.
"From what I've seen in their league form and in training I think they are definitely ready to take their chance."
