United offering 'substantial financial package' to secure coveted star

What promises to be an exciting summer of transfers will answer several burning questions but right at the top has been how much exactly will Manchester United table before Juventus to get their man.

According to the Express Juventus have been privately open to a deal with United who they claim are willing to splash a world record £97.5million on the player. A problem could come in the form of Real Madrid who seems to be the player's preferred destination. However with new contract negotiations ongoing with the likes of Gareth Bale and Ronaldo, stadium redevelopment costs and their pursuit of Eden Hazard, it could be they are in no position to compete.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Pogba does want to work under Mourinho but wasn't interested in returning to United until Jose had been confirmed. Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is also said to be working to broker a deal between Man United and Juventus.

France play Iceland on Sunday and Pogba will be expected to feature. The 23-year-old joined Juventus in 2012 where he has helped the side secure four back-to-back Serie A titles and to a Champions League final. Pogba has scored 34 goals in all competitions in his 178 appearances for Juve.

Will the midfielder be playing for United next season? We will have a better idea obviously after Euro 2016 but it seems to be down to the player as it would be surprising to see Juventus turn down that kind of money (if the Express are correct) for any player. You have to wonder also, is Pogba even worth it?
