Sad Di Maria transfer in the balance

In the football world of mega deals and mega ego’s it seems that Di Maria is not a happy bunny and is feeling overshadowed by new big price-tag transfers according to reports in the Mirror and elsewhere.

The Argentinean who is now back from World Cup duties and holidays is desperate to join Manchester United according to another report in the Daily Star. The arrival of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos along with Bale has meant the winger can no longer be sure of his starting position despite some important performances in the Champions League last season.

You would expect that the Galacticos will have a new starting line-up come the new season and lets face it could probably do with the cash to help balance the books. Di Maria is believed to be yours for as little as £45m but Manchester United would be advised to get down to business soon if they want him with PSG also sniffing around.

There is a reason that Di Maria prefers the Manchester United option. PSG it seems want to do a loan deal and defer payment until 2015 due to falling foul of UEFA’s FFP rules which is proving complex according to reports and PSG are dragging their feet.

Marca have suggested that Di Maria could go to PSG if PSG sell Edinson Cavani, possibly to Manchester United which would according to Marca make Di Maria a record sale for Real at £63m. Of course the player could also stay where he is with Carlro Ancelotti stating he wants him back for training on the 5th of August:

"Di Maria finished the World Cup and he is resting," he said. "He will return on August 5 to start (training) together with his team mates."

The 26-year-old winger who can also perform as an attacking midfield option joined Real Madrid in 2010 from Benfica where he has gone on to make 124 appearances and scored 22 goals.
