Real Madrid to Offer Gareth Bale in return for Eden Hazard?

As deals go it’s not the most ludicrous going although I can’t remember the last time a straight player for player swap happened, although do enlighten me below if you do! According to the Sun it seems that Real Madrid have made the enquiry and proposal to offload Bale in exchange for the newly crowned PFA Player of the Year. The claim is that Real have not made the offer formal but are simply sounding-out Chelsea to see if they are responsive to the idea.

Hazard signed a new long-term deal with the Stamford Bridge club earlier in the season and Mourinho may consider the deal loaded in Real’s favour given he previously considered Hazard to be worth £100m and one of Real’s best three players.

Bale has been heavily linked with Manchester United with swap deals being mooted in regard to a possible move for David De Gea but it is suggested in the report that Real are not interested in player plus cash deals and are only entertaining like-for-like swap deals.

The Real club president last month spoke up to dismiss talk of a move for Bale in the summer saying to Marca: "We would never listen to any offers for Bale no matter what the bid was.

"He is a unique player who has already given so much to the team.

"He is the key to the club's future, just like I cannot imagine a future without Cristiano Ronaldo."

The question of a move to Real was addressed to Eden Hazard at the PFA awards event to which Hazard replied simply “No, Im staying.”

Hazard arrived from Lille in 2012 and recently signed a further 5 and a half year deal with Chelsea.
