New Mansfield signings set to keep spots

Mansfield's quartet of new signings are set to keep their places for the Stags' League Two clash with Crewe.

Goalkeeper Jake Kean, midfielders Joel Byrom and Ben Whiteman and striker Yoann Arquin all started as Mansfield recorded their first win in six league games against Blackpool last weekend.

Manager Steve Evans is, though, set to be without defender Kyle Howkins, who has returned to West Brom following the end of his loan spell.

Evans is keen to re-sign Howkins and was waiting for a decision from the Baggies.

Crewe are set to be boosted by the return of captain and top scorer Ryan Lowe.

The striker has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury but is expected to be available.

Boss Steve Davis is keen to sign reinforcements in midfield and up front but new blood for this weekend appears unlikely.

Last weekend's goalless draw with Morecambe made it only two wins from 20 games for Alex.
