Manchester United look to Charlie Austin as QPR ready to cash in on striker

Manchester United could look to make a deadline day deal for Queens Park Rangers forward Charlie Austin to bolster their attack, according to reports.

The former Burnley man scored an impressive eighteen goals in his debut season in the Premier and has attracted interest from a host of top flight clubs.

The Hoops are only willing to part with Austin for no less than £15m, which could almost be seen as a bargain with the current market for English players at a premium.

United has only just agreed a deal with Monaco for nineteen year-old forward Anthony Martial at £36m. However many view the deal as a huge gamble and with Austin having an English pedigree and Premier League experience the potential transfer ticks a lot of boxes.

United are set to be one of the busiest clubs on deadline day as the saga surrounding goal keeper David De Gea's move to Real Madrid continues to be unresolved.

A deal was seemingly done yesterday however there was believed to be a hitch on the final paperwork. Could the Old Trafford hierarchy be taking mind-gaming tips from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson?

Whatever happens, the Red Devils are set for a whirlwind of a day and there are bound to some big surprises.
