Manager Garry Monk admits he is bemused by some of the negativity surrounding Swansea's form.
Swansea have gone nearly 300 minutes without scoring since Bafetimbi Gomis' winner against Manchester United at the end of August, drawing successive Premier League blanks against Watford and Everton before suffering a shock Capital One Cup defeat to Championship club Hull in midweek.
But Monk insists his side, seventh in the Premier League table, have been playing well ahead of Saturday's trip to his former club Southampton.
"The way I am getting asked things is as if we are reaching for the panic button or something," Monk said at his pre-match press conference.
"We have only lost one game in the Premier League, let's not forget that.
"You can include pre-season as well if you like, and that's another five games without defeat.
"So in terms of confidence and focus you can see it's there.
"I think these questions (about Swansea's form) stem from the Watford performance, which we were disappointed with and didn't see coming.
"But the nature of this sport is that you get setbacks. What is important is you react to them well and we did that against Everton to get a good point."
Monk insists Swansea are "moving along nicely" but if they do need a pick-me-up this weekend they are returning to a place where they have recent happy memories.
Swansea had been weakened by injuries and the sale of star striker Wilfried Bony when they travelled to Southampton in January.
But Jonjo Shelvey's stunning late strike gave them an unlikely victory against opponents who were in the top four of the Premier League at the time.
"Last season we went down there and it was at a vital point of the season for us," said Monk, who spent nearly eight years of his playing career at Southampton.
"We had a lot of changes and they were flying at the time but we had a great result.
"It was one of those vital games of the season when we needed a performance and a result and we got it, and we'll go down there with the same attitude and determination for that to happen again.
"We could have had more points but I think we're moving along nicely and doing fine.
"Of course, we can play better but we're playing in a way where we're solid and looking to do the right things.
"The commitment from the players is always there and we've moved on from the Watford game."
