Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists he has every reason to stay positive despite seeing his side stretch their Premier League winless streak to six games with a 1-0 defeat to Swansea at Turf Moor.
A scrappy second-half own goal from Kieran Trippier summed up a gruelling encounter which left the Clarets facing a fight to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
Liverpool and Manchester City are next up but Dyche believes his side's determination and will to win will stand them in good stead for the survival battle ahead.
Dyche said: "It is all about the fine margins in the Premier League and we know we have got to turn the good performances into wins.
"I was certainly pleased with the way we were trying to win the game because that was apparent.
" There is no naivety to my positivity - we know we have to win games because points are hard to come by in this league."
Ashley Barnes struck an early chance straight at visiting keeper Lukasz Fabianski and George Boyd and substitute Sam Vokes also had chances.
While Dyche was pleased with his side's overall performance, the lack of cutting edge was plain for all to see as Garry Monk's men seized a rare chance to steal all three points.
Jack Cork's initial effort in the box was brilliantly tipped against the bar by home keeper Tom Heaton but Cork's attempt at the rebound struck Trippier and deflected in off the hapless keeper.
Swansea's three-point haul took them closer to their previous Premier League best of seven points and Monk was pleased with the spirit shown by his side and goalkeeper Fabianski in particular.
"He did what he had to do but there were not too many chances in the game from either side," said Monk.
"It was always a case of whoever gets the first goal is likely to get the upper-hand. When we got the goal we didn't look in any particular danger. The first one was crucial and thankfully we got it."
