Chelsea to sweep aside rivals in January for Spain star

Chelsea are having a spell in the sunshine this winter, already building a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League and putting out a strong statement in the transfer market. The 2014-15 champions are looking to strengthen their threat in the final third with the highly-rated Real Madrid star, Isco, who is attracting interest far and wide.

The report suggests that Chelsea are preparing a big bid for the Spaniard who has so far failed to cement a place in the starting Real Madrid XI and who was close to leaving in the Summer window.

Whilst the report concedes that the player has seen more game time this season with his father recently suggesting his son would be ready to sign a new contract it seems at least two Premier League clubs think the player could join them. Chelsea feel Isco will be tempted to join them instead of signing a new contract with Real with a 'double' the money carrot and more opportunity to play a regular part in Chelsea's future.

The report cites the Spanish source Diario Gol for the tip.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder/second striker was considered one of the brightest young Spanish prospects and was snapped up by Real Madrid from Malaga in 2013. The player has gone on to make 108 league appearances, scoring 17 La Liga goals. The player is being closely monitored by Chelsea and Arsenal. Watch this space.
