Cardiff have confirmed they have accepted an offer from Premier League new boys Hull for Scotland goalkeeper David Marshall.

The 31-year-old, who impressed throughout the Bluebirds' sole Premier League campaign in 2013/14, has been left out of Cardiff's squad to face Reading on Saturday afternoon.

Injury-hit Hull are currently without their first-choice goalkeeper, Marshall's international team-mate Allan McGregor, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a back issue.

A brief statement on the Sky Bet Championship club's website said: " Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that a bid for David Marshall from Hull City has been accepted.

"David has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Hull and will thus not feature in today's match-day squad."

Marshall has made over 280 appearances for Cardiff in all competitions since joining the club from Norwich in 2009.
