Arsenal to compete with City for Pogba signing

It has been reported that Man City have identified Pogba as a mega-money potential signing that would eclipse their current record of £38 million paid to lure Sergio Aguero to the Etihad. A product of the United youth system the former Manchester United player famously left Old Trafford for free in 2012 and has since become a huge star in Serie A for Juventus.

The fit for City is clear with the long-term replacement for Yaya Toure needing to be acquired but reports suggesting that Arsenal are themselves looking at bringing the young ace to the Emirates is a little baffling.

Man City’s most expensive signings:

Sergio Aguero - £38m from Atletico Madrid (2011)

Robinho - £32.5m from Real Madrid (2008)

Eliaguim Mangala - £32m from Porto (2014)

Fernandinho - £27m from Shakhtar Donetsk (2013)

Edin Dzeko - £27m from Wolfsburg (2011)

The 21-year-old has become a feature for Juventus, making 75 League Appearances and scoring 15 times since joining in 2012 to secure a new long-term contract earlier in the year. The contract situation will unlikely concern City although they are censored by FFP punishments in their transfer dealings it is reported in the Mail that City are now confident they have the financial situation under control and are able to cope with big-money bids again.

The report goes on to imply that Arsene Wenger will jump at any opportunity to sign the French midfielder and have also been keeping tabs on his situation.
