Lyle Taylor nets double as AFC Wimbledon ease past Luton

Lyle Taylor bagged two goals as AFC Wimbledon equalled their biggest win of the season with a thumping 4-1 victory over Luton.

An own goal and a Sean Rigg effort completed the scoring for the Dons with Jack Marriott grabbing a consolation for the Hatters.

Wimbledon opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when George Francomb's left-sided corner was headed back across goal by Ryan Sweeney and diverted into his own goal by the unfortunate Scott Cuthbert.

The lead was doubled two minutes later when the impressive Andy Barcham sent an improvised left-wing cross into the box for Taylor to find the back of the net via a deflection.

Luton made a defensive change at half-time but could not prevent Wimbledon scoring another quick-fire double.

Two minutes after the restart, substitute Rigg found the bottom corner with a first-time effort from the edge of the penalty area.

And Taylor got his second two minutes later, firing in from Francomb's corner.

Marriott scored an impressive consolation in the 58th minute but Wimbledon ran out worthy winners.
