Ben Wilson mistake gifts Dagenham a much-needed victory

AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Ben Wilson's late clanger gifted Dagenham a shock 1-0 victory at the Cherry Red Records Stadium to end their 11-match run without a league victory.

The visitors had offered nothing for the majority of the match until veteran Jamie Cureton lobbed in an aimless ball that was dropped over the line by Wilson on 80 minutes.

Wimbledon will feel they should have led at half-time after Lyle Taylor was twice denied by Mark Cousins, the Daggers keeper, who also tipped over a Callum Kennedy free-kick.

Cousins then had to get down quickly to save from Karleigh Osborne, who had headed the resulting corner towards goal.

Adebayo Akinfenwa had earlier seen a header go just over before he smashed another chance wide as the first half ended goalless.

Substitute Sean Rigg nearly scrambled a goal for the Dons in the second half, but Cousins again came to Dagenham's rescue.

Taylor was fortunate to stay on the pitch after an altercation with Clevid Dikamona before Wilson's mistake sealed defeat for the home side.
