16 February 2017 11:37

Soren Kragh Andersen of Team Sunweb, got clear to take the third stage of the Tour Of Oman.

Stage three was from Sultan Qaboos University to Quriyat over 162 kilometres and saw six riders in Irishman Matt Brammeier, Feng, Kuboki, Mannion, Sisr and Van Lerberghe get in the break.

They had a lead of five minutes but with twenty kilometres to go, the break ended.

There was a big fight for position to get onto the final climb with five kilometres to go but Team Sunweb got their riders into some good placing and Soren Kragh Andersen was able to take the win in 3.53.11 ahead of Rui Costa and Ben Hermans, followed by De Plus, Fuglsang, De La Cruz, Kudus, Bardet, Aru and Morton.

That third placing for Ben Hermans of BMC means that he keeps the red leader’s jersey going into stage four.
