Led by paceman Tim Southee's best career figures of 7-33, New Zealand bundled England out for 123 in 33.2 overs in their World Cup Pool A match in Wellington on Friday.

England, who won the toss and opted to bat on a flat-looking pitch, failed to cope with the guile of Southee's swing with Joe Root the only man to offer any resistance with 46.

Southee's figures are the fourth best figures in all World Cups.

Opener Moeen Ali made 20 while skipper Eoin Morgan managed 17.
