Essex have signed Middlesex spinner Ravi Patel on loan.
The 23-year-old slow left-armer has been restricted to NatWest Blast T20 appearances in recent months, most recently against his new club.
He will be available for Essex's next two LV= County Championship matches against Kent and Surrey, after Hampshire recalled Liam Dawson.
Essex head coach Paul Grayson said: "Ravi is one of the best young spinners in the country. Obviously he's not playing much cricket at the moment, and we welcome him to the squad for the game at Tunbridge Wells on Sunday.
"I would like to thank Middlesex for making the loan signing possible."
