Limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan has welcomed the appointment of Trevor Bayliss as England's new coach.

The Australian was this week appointed by the England and Wales Cricket Board and the 52-year-old will this summer start work across all three forms of the game.

That will reunite Morgan with the man who coached him during a stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and the 28-year-old is looking forward to it.

"He keeps things relatively simple and doesn't overcomplicate the game," Morgan told The Times after making his first appearance of the season for Middlesex against Kent.

Morgan hit a 27-ball 54 after returning from the IPL and added: "I got to know him (Bayliss) really well in Kolkata.

"His approach mirrors my line of thinking and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again."

Bayliss is due to arrive in England at the end of June ahead of the Ashes opener against Australia on July 8.

Morgan is not a member of England's Test side but after having his limited-overs captaincy confirmed by new director Andrew Strauss a fortnight ago, his first involvement with Bayliss is likely to come in the Twenty20 international against Australia on August 31.
