England Lions face a series decider on Saturday after slumping to a six-wicket defeat against Pakistan A in Dubai.

The Lions, who beat the same opponents in a decisive fifth Twenty20 rubber before Christmas, must now repeat the trick in the 50-over format after squandering a 2-0 series lead.

James Vince's side posted a substandard 181, having struggled to get Pakistan's spinners away in the latter overs for the second game running.

Vince and Dawid Malan made a promising start as they shared a stand of 60 inside 10 overs, but the skipper ran himself out attempting a third to fine-leg after adding 32 from 26 balls.

Tom Westley was lbw to his second ball from Fahim Ashraf and Sam Billings also went cheaply, before Malan fell to the left-arm spin of Zohaib Khan for 56.

Hampshire's Liam Dawson was shaping well with 20 off 31 balls until he was run out after considering an ambitious second to deep midwicket, and the rest of the middle and lower order folded.

Craig Overton, Jake Ball, Dawson and Westley each struck with the ball to reduce Pakistan to 66 for four in the 24th over, but Asif Zakir saw his side home with an unbeaten 68, which was well supported by Zohaib in an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 116.
