Bairstow, Coles, Prince and Rushworth in running for PCA award

Jonny Bairstow, Matt Coles, Ashwell Prince and Chris Rushworth have been shortlisted for the Professional Cricketers' Association player of the year award.

The prestigious Reg Hayter Cup is voted for by current county cricketers, with the winner announced at Tuesday's annual awards dinner.

Bairstow played a part in England's Investec Ashes success as well as Yorkshire's successful LV= County Championship defence, while retiring Lancashire batsman Prince was the top run-scorer in the Championship and helped the Red Rose lift the NatWest Blast T20 trophy.

Kent seamer Coles managed 100 wickets in all competitions, while Durham paceman Rushworth topped the Championship standings with 83 scalps - a record for his county.

The John Arlott Cup, given to the PCA's young player of the year, will be contested by Somerset's Craig Overton, L ancashire's Alex Davies, Surrey's Tom Curran and Ollie Robinson of Sussex.

The Waitrose Women's Player of the Summer category, voted for by the England Women's performance squad, will go to Anya Shrubsole, Natalie Sciver or Katherine Brunt.
