Alex Hales unsure on Bangladesh tour amid reports of delayed squad annoucement

Uncertainty continues to hang over the readiness of England players to travel to Bangladesh, despite assurances from the team's own security expert which have give the tour the go-ahead.

Amid reports that limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan has significant concerns, no player has yet committed publicly to the trip.

Alex Hales is the latest, after his record-breaking 171 against Pakistan as England sealed the Royal London Series on his home ground at Trent Bridge, to make it clear he has yet to make up his mind.

Three players have addressed the topic in press conferences, since the England and Wales Cricket Board's security adviser Reg Dickason reported back last week that it will be safe to travel, and each has cited 'tough decisions' not yet reached.

England's Test and one-day international trip, set to start at the end of September, was thrown into doubt after a deadly terror attack in Dhaka took 29 lives in July.

Morgan's doubts have reportedly resulted in a delay to the ECB's plans to name the ODI squad next week, so that the captain can be convinced he should lead it.

Hales admitted, like Jos Buttler and Liam Plunkett before him, that he has yet to decide - even though a no-show would threaten his precarious hold on the position of Test match opener.

"If you choose not to go to Bangladesh you're risking your spot, particularly me," he said, fresh from hitting England's highest all-time ODI score in a record-breaking match which established an unassailable 3-0 series lead.

"I'm still uncertain as to what to do.

"It's going to be some tough decision to make in the next week or so."

Hales will set aside all those vexed considerations as he and England try to close out a first ever unbeaten white-ball summer, in three remaining matches against Pakistan which conclude with a one-off Twenty20 at Old Trafford next Wednesday.

"A decision that big is always going to be in the back of your mind," he added.

"I've tried to shut it out and focus on what's an important series for us.

"I feel I've managed to do that so far, and I'll think about it in the next week or so."
