Anthony Joshua is the current IBF heavyweight champion after defeating Charles Martin in a knockout victory in the second round, continuing his perfect record of 16 straight knockout victories.

But how has he managed to become such a powerful Boxer? Which foods have fueled his rise up the heavyweight ladder?

Breakfast:

Cereal? Toast? Think again. Anthony Joshua’s breakfast consists of Egg, rice, chicken, avocado, bread and fruit juice. Yes, all this just for breakfast!

Lunch:

So what about lunch? Joshua aims for a protein packed, carb full lunch, which consists of salmon, rice, noodles and vegetables.

Dinner:

Okra is one of the lesser known foods, but vital for Joshua's diet.

Anthony Joshua’s dinner gives him the energy and fuel after a day of training. It consists of a dish called ‘pounded yam’ (one of Nigeria’s most popular foods. A dense form of mash potato and is packed with carbs.), stew, okra and some sort of meat, as well as (yes there's more!!) rice, salmon and noodles.

Joshua told sky sports that he likes simple meats, such as chicken and steak - great sources of protein for any heavyweight boxer.

What about luxuries? Can he afford to snack whilst training for a fight?

Joshua told Sky SportsMaybe some takeaway food, but I probably allow myself to have more of the sweet stuff and oily stuff”.

“Apple crumble is the main one. I love my apple crumble and my custard. Ice creams too - Mars and Maltesers ice creams. I have to stop all that when I start training”.

Would you be able to follow this diet? It takes a lot to become the best and the rise of Anthony Joshua has only just begun.
