Tottenham and West Ham are two of a number of clubs eying up a move for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.
Giroud has found game time hard to come by this season at Stamford Bridge, playing just 178 minutes in all competitions.
The forward's first-team opportunities were similarly restricted last term, but he enjoyed an end of season renaissance, hitting six Premier League goals following project restart.
Giroud put pen to paper on a new 12 month deal in May, but after Chelsea's summer of heavy spending, he has fallen down the pecking order once more.
According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Tottenham and West Ham are two of five clubs in the running to sign the French international alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami and Inter, with the Italian club currently in 'pole position'.
Tottenham have long been linked with a move for Giroud, with 90min revealing in April that they were keen to sign the striker once his Stamford Bridge contract expired.
The former Arsenal striker - who spent six years with Tottenham's north London rivals - was also the subject of interest from Spurs late in the January transfer window this year as the club attempted to sign an emergency replacement for the injured Harry Kane.
Inter were also in talks with Giroud over a January move, but this dragged on throughout the transfer window and a move ultimately failed to materialise.
Giroud netted his first goal of the season for Chelsea on Tuesday evening, coming off the bench and popping up with a 91st minute winner against Rennes in the Champions League, and manager Frank Lampard said the 33-year-old's goal reinforced his importance to the team.
"He offers a lot for us and I keep saying it but the big schedule coming up and the way we play means I will rely on players," said Lampard [via the Daily Mail]. "So thankfully for me he's a player that always keeps the right attitude if he's not playing regularly, and I know when I call upon him that he comes in as he did."
