Though it may have ended with gut wrenching anti-climax, just missing out on Champions League qualification on the final day, Leicester's fifth-placed finish this season should still be viewed as a triumph overall.
Prior to the New Year, the Foxes were playing some scintillating football under Brendan Rodgers and even put NINE goals past Southampton back in October.
Despite all their early season promise, a season of Thursday night football awaits Leicester in the Europa League begins next month, but which members of the current squad should they take along for the ride.
90min went through all of the Foxes' senior players and decided whether they should stay or go.
Goalkeepers
Kasper Schmeichel (STAY) - Despite some uncharacteristic mistakes sneaking into the Dane's game towards the end of the season, Schmeichel remains one of the most reliable stoppers in Foxes history and should remain number one. Obviously.
Danny Ward (STAY) - The Welshman's fine performances in the domestic cup competitions proved he is a more than adequate backup option. He could be afforded even more playing in the Europa League next season.
Eldin Jakupovic (STAY) - He's 35, has one year left on his contract and probably won't play at all next season. Seems a nice fella though, so may as well keep him around in the apparently necessary third choice keeper role.
Centre-Backs
Caglar Soyuncu (STAY) - Kicking Callum Wilson in the arse aside, Soyuncu was a revelation during the 2019/20 season. The Turkey international has become one of the best centre-backs in the league, even attracting interest from Manchester City in January. Thankfully, he now looks set to stay at the King Power Stadium.
Jonny Evans (STAY) - Another standout performer for the Foxes, the composed head of Evans will be needed next season with Leicester's European commitment likely to place a strain on the dressing room.
Wes Morgan (STAY) - As a top-flight player, Morgan is pretty much done. He is painfully slow on the half turn and partial to an error. Despite this, he should be kept around for his leadership qualities - with the caveat that he should only play in an emergency.
Filip Benkovic (STAY) - Benkovic's arrival back in 2018 was greeted with plenty of hype but he has barely featured since. He has impressed at loan spells at Bristol City and Celtic recently and now deserves a run at the first team - particularly with Evans set to miss the opening three games of next season due to suspension.
Full-Backs
Ricardo Pereira (STAY) - Probably Leicester's most important player, Pereira was sorely missed towards the end of the season. They should fight tooth and nail to fend off the inevitable summer interest from some of Europe's best sides.
James Justin (STAY) - Justin impressed when drafted in post-lockdown, displaying an impressive level of versatility and attacking intent. Still only 22, he is bound to get even better.
Ben Chilwell (GO) - He wants to leave and if Leicester can get Harry Maguire-esque money for Chilwell they should definitely take it. He's good for sure - but not that good.
Christian Fuchs (STAY) - Although he's 34, Fuchs has looked impressive during his few cameo appearances. As an added bonus the Premier League winner can also play several positions, just as comfortable operating in a back three as he is at full-back.
Luke Thomas (STAY) - Perhaps the only good thing to happen to Leicester post-lockdown was the emergence of Thomas. At 19 years old, he looks set to dominate the left-back position for years to come.
Centre Midfielders
Wilfred Ndidi (STAY) - By leading the Premier League in tackles and interceptions last season, Ndidi once again proved he is one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. With four years remaining on his current deal, he could remain at Leicester for some time as well.
Hamza Choudhury (STAY) - Sometimes brilliant, frequently rash and always combative, Choudhury is an enigmatic delight in the heart of the Foxes midfield. His homegrown status earns him extra brownie points as well.
Daniel Amartey (GO) - Although his versatility could prove useful, Leicester's bloated squad needs trimming and forgotten man Amartey is one of the likely departees.
Youri Tielemans (STAY) - It was a bit of a strange season for Tielemans. He appeared more and more jaded as the campaign progressed but there can be no denying his talent.
Denni Praet (STAY) - A neat and tidy playmaker with an underrated gritty side, Praet has four years left on his current deal and will be relishing the prospect of a return to European football.
Adrien Silva (GO) - After missing the registration deadline by 14 seconds back in summer 2017, Silva had to wait five months for his Leicester debut. Since then, his Foxes career has never really taken off. He has impressed on loan at Monaco this season but severing ties is best for all parties at this point.
Matty James (GO) - There's no room for sentiment in the cut throat world of the Premier League. unless you're Matty James apparently. Handing the injury-prone fan favourite a four-year deal in 2017 has proved to be horrendous business and it's time for the midfielder to find a new home.
Attacking Midfielders
James Maddison (STAY) - Maddison is currently close to signing a new deal at the King Power Stadium which will finally put an end to speculation linking him with a move away - for now at least. The 23-year-old is Leicester's creative fulcrum and must be retained at all costs.
Bartosz Kapustka (GO) - Signed after impressing at Euro 2016, Kapustka is still somehow under contract at Leicester. He's made just three appearances during his time at the club.
Wingers
Marc Albrighton (STAY) - He's in the wingers section but recent performances suggest that Albrighton's future could lie at wing-back. The 30-year-old's ability to remain in the good books of any manager who arrives through the revolving door at Leicester is testament to his determination.
Harvey Barnes (STAY) - If only he could finish, Barnes would be an elite level winger. Until then he remains a rough diamond, capable of the spectacular but often inconsistent. He has been linked to Liverpool, but a summer move looks unlikely.
Demarai Gray (GO) - Surely Gray must be sick of sitting on the bench by now? If Leicester get a suitable offer, they should seriously consider moving the hit-and-miss wideman on.
Fousseni Diabeté (GO) - He may have looked promising in his opening few games but surely there's no route back to the first team for Diabeté. Brought in by Claude Puel, he spent last season helping Amiens get relegated from Ligue 1. Maybe they'd like to take the unpredictable forward off Leicester's hands permanently?
Forwards
Jamie Vardy (STAY) - Keep him and store him in a cryo chamber - filled with Red Bull - to prevent him ageing another day.
Kelechi Iheanacho (STAY) - Brendan Rodgers has somehow transformed Iheanacho from a misfiring poacher with no future at the club into in a highly effective link forward. Long may his resurgence continue.
Ayoze Perez (STAY) - Though he was not massively productive offensively last season, Perez has been a vital cog in the Leicester press and his versatility will come in handy.
Islam Slimani (STAY) - If Slimani is happy to play second, or even third fiddle next season, Leicester should consider keeping him around. He managed 16 goal involvements in just 18 Ligue 1 appearances during his recent loan spell with Monaco and his tireless work rate would see him slot into the Foxes' side well.
