Real Madrid Keen on Jadon Sancho But Will Not Rival Man Utd Bid This Summer

Real Madrid are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, but are unwilling to make a big-money move for him this summer - paving the way for Manchester United to conclude a deal of their own.

Sancho has lit up the European stage this season, scoring 17 and assisting 17 goals in the Bundesliga for BVB. The 20-year-old's exploits have caught the attention of Europe's elite, with the biggest names in the sport circling to snap up the England international.

Jadon Sancho has been a long-term Manchester United target.

And one of those interested parties is none other than Real Madrid. Los Merengues are known for their willingness to splash the cash on marquee signings, but AS report that their pursuit of Sancho will have to wait another year, at least.

And this is incredibly good news for Manchester United supporters.

Madrid are aware that the Red Devils are desperate to add Sancho to their ranks, and AS claim that the Red Devils even had a substantial January bid rejected. But Ole Gunnar Solskjær and the United hierarchy are prepared to do whatever it takes to get their man, as they finally attempt to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo's departure in 2009.

For Madrid, the attraction is obvious. Sancho is one of the most exciting prospects in Europe, and he is showing all the signs of being a future superstar. Los Merengues also have an ulterior motive, however.

Sancho came through the Manchester City ranks and having failed to gain the first-team action he craved, he rejected Pep Guardiola and moved to Germany. So, Madrid would take great satisfaction in nurturing and enjoying a talent who refused to bend to the will of the once Barcelona coach.

Eden Hazard moved to Real Madrid for €100m in 2019.

But these dreams may only end up being just that - dreams. Madrid are not prepared to spend big in the summer, having invested heavily in the squad last year, recruiting the likes of Eden Hazard and Ferland Mendy.

Los Merengues are hoping that Sancho will opt to remain at Dortmund for another season, before launching their attack in the following summer. But with Man Utd loitering with intent, it might be too little, too late for the Spanish giants.
