Pompey Amputees Score Incredible FA People's Cup Goal

29 February 2016 05:56

While most of the attention this weekend was focused on the Premier League title race and the Capital One Cup final, a little-know side were scoring one of the goals of the year so far.

Pompey Amputees played against Swanscombe Tigers in the Adult disability category of the FA People's Cup, with one player using his crutches to great effect - and no, not to trip up the other team.

Cutting inside one defender, the Pompey man steadied himself on his crutches before flicking his leg out to clip the ball brilliantly past the keeper with the outside of his boot.

Pompey showed throughout the day that their moment of quality was no one-off, beating Wandgas 4-2 to win their regional final and reach finals day in Sheffield in three weeks time.
