Liverpool loanee goalkeeper Kamil Grabara was hospitalised on Tuesday evening after suffering a head injury while playing for Huddersfield Town.

Grabara was left unconscious after a collision, and was subsequently carried off the pitch and immediately taken to hospital.

Huddersfield went on to win the game against Hull City 2-1, but manager Danny Cowley was more concerned about his player than the result after the final whistle. As quoted by Liverpool Offside, he said: “It was a very important win in our season, but obviously our thoughts are with Kamil Grabara.

“He’s a young boy, and you never want to see that in football. He didn’t know where he was when he came round, so he was rushed to hospital and he is in good hands.

“Kamil had a neck brace on and I wasn’t able to speak with him. It was difficult for the team because the boys are all very close and they are worried for him, but they stuck at it and got an important win.”

He was also quoted by FourFourTwo as saying: “We’re concerned about him, it was a nasty one, a really nasty one. He was knocked unconscious for a period of time, I’m not quite sure how long. He didn’t know where he was when he came round.

“Our thoughts are with him this evening, he’s gone to hospital and he’s got good care around him now.”

Huddersfield's win proved to be a crucial three points for them, as it pushed them six points away from the relegation zone. They will now head to promotion hopefuls Fulham this weekend in search of another important result.
