Leicester City Open to Offers for Kelechi Iheanacho to Fund Odsonne Edouard Move

Leicester are willing to listen to offers for striker Kelechi Iheanacho this summer, as the Foxes look to make up money to bring Odsonne Edouard to the King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho joined the Foxes back in 2017 for £25m, but has found a place in the starting lineup hard to come by under current Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers. Despite hitting the back of the net 10 times this season, the Nigerian international has just 16 starts in all competitions to his name – with Jamie Vardy still the club's clear leading man.

Despite scoring a respectable 10 goals in all competitions this season, Iheanacho has failed to cement a place in Leicester's starting lineup

Leicester just missed out on Champions League football and are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with the club eager to give Premier League top scorer Vardy some help. The Englishman led all goalscorers in the league with 23 strikes, but at 33 years old, the Foxes will be all too aware that their reliance on Vardy for goals has an expiry date.

Rodgers eyes Edouard as the man to help - and eventually maybe even replace - Vardy, but the Celtic striker - who's 21 goals and 12 assists helped the Hoops to a ninth straight SPL title - will likely cost the Foxes around £40m.

In an effort to fund the move, the Daily Mail report that the club are open to the idea of selling Iheanacho and are willing to listen to offers for the forward.

Edouard is the man Leicester want in their efforts to strengthen their front line

Leicester's midlands neighbours Aston Villa are reportedly interested in bringing Iheanacho to Villa Park, but with 10 goals this season in all competitions, there's sure to be more suitors waiting to make a move for the forward.

Following his sensational form in Scotland, Edouard is a wanted man and Leicester will face tough competition to land his signature, with a number of Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Everton and Leeds United all interested in the acquiring the Frenchman's services.
