You'd think that being the main man in the frontline at a club like Chelsea would be one of the most sought-after roles in European football, yet for some reason it's become a bit of a poisoned chalice.
Fernando Torres, Alvaro Morata, Andriy Shevchenko and Radamel Falcao are just a handful of the household names to have been effectively chewed up and spat out by the Blues, and Timo Werner is in danger of becoming the latest addition to that ever-growing list.
It'll probably come as no surprise then that the Blues have been linked with a move for soon-to-be free agent Sergio Aguero.
90min recently revealed that Roman Abramovich is open to the idea of sanctioning a move for not one but two new strikers this summer, with Aguero and Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland both being monitored.

While it seems like a no-brainer, Aguero's injury record this season makes for pretty grim reading - with just nine Premier League appearances and one goal to his name - and so Chelsea's pursuit definitely carries an element of risk.
Were the Blues to sign the 32-year-old he would undoubtedly be a short-term option as he enters the twilight of his career, yet short-term options which bring success before being binned off when things go pear-shaped seem to be welcomed with open arms at Stamford Bridge.
With the Manchester City man's status as a Premier League veteran unlikely to deter them and the club seemingly prepared to bring in another centre-forward should his injury problems persist, what's the issue with them snapping up a man with 181 Premier League goals to his name?
Well, remember when we suggested Timo Werner could soon have his name added to Chelsea's list of frontman flops? You could pretty much add it to said list the second Aguero stepped foot inside Stamford Bridge.
The £45m summer 2020 arrival's struggles in his maiden Premier League campaign have been regularly highlighted, with just five goals from his 29 league outings so far.
But with nine league assists to his name he's still playing a huge role in Chelsea's battle to secure Champions League qualification, and let's not forget he spent much of the season playing under a manager who proved to be out of his depth and couldn't get the best out of the majority of his squad.
Thomas Tuchel has spent most of his Chelsea tenure to date experimenting with various different systems and personnel, so Werner is hardly being afforded a fair crack of the whip as he looks to settle into Premier League life.
The German international's quality has never been in doubt - having bagged 28 Bundesliga goals in his final season with RB Leipzig - though his confidence is at absolute rock bottom.
The Blues' recent defeat to strugglers West Brom couldn't have highlighted his current lack of self-belief more, as he opted to square the ball to Mason Mount from all of about six yards out allowing the England midfielder to tap home - 12 months ago when he was scoring for fun in Germany there isn't a chance he would have passed on such an opportunity.
Even if Werner had arrived at Chelsea on a free transfer it would be foolish to essentially bring in his replacement after one season of struggle, yet his whopping £45m price tag is just another in a long list of reasons as to why they should persist with the misfiring frontman.
Obviously if Aguero did arrive at Stamford Bridge, Tuchel would be the first to insist he wasn't being brought in as Werner's replacement and there was room for both of them at the club, yet we know that would be a lie and more importantly Werner would know it was a lie.
The arrival of Aguero would absolutely shatter what's left of Werner's confidence and Chelsea can't afford to run that risk, because he will come good eventually. Promise.
