Despite missing out on automatic promotion by a narrow margin, Brentford can hold their heads high as they enter the 2019/20 Championship playoffs in search for a spot in next season's Premier League.
It's been an incredible campaign for the Bees and, while the entire squad deserves applause, Said Benrahma is the name on everybody's lips.
Benrahma has been a human highlight reel since joining Brentford in 2018. His sublime footwork, combined with a desire to get in defenders' faces with tight dribbling is complimented by a ruthless finishing ability, coming in from wide positions.
The Algerian has managed 17 goals and nine assists in 43 appearances this season, ridiculing defenders up and down the country with his catalogue of ability. Primarily a left winger, Benrahma can also play on the right and likes to come central to dribble at players, making him a complete package.
His form has put a number of Premier League clubs on standby for his services, but also a hefty price tag over his head. 90min recently assessed where Benrahma would fit in from a footballing perspective, but here's a list of clubs who could realistically afford to make the transfer.
1. Everton
Despite signing for Brentford for a fee of around just £2.7m, Benrahma isn't going to be a cheap buy this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to inject some new life into his lacklustre Everton squad, and with financial backing from owner Farhad Moshiri, they could be the ones to pay the price for the winger.assuming that price is about £20-27m. They've shelled out that kind of fee no fewer than 12 times in the last four seasons.
Benrahma would slot nicely into Everton's current system, occupying a role on either flank. He would inject some much-needed sharpness and excitement from out wide, giving the Toffees more threat in attack.
2. Liverpool
The Premier League champions need to build on what they've got currently. Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah aren't getting any younger, and Benrahma could work perfectly in Liverpool's ruthless attacking front three.
Even as a rotation option to begin with, his flair off the bench would be the perfect way for the Reds to bolster a title-winning squad.
Liverpool did pass up on Timo Werner over concerns of financial instability in the transfer market. They do need to strengthen however, and Benrahma could still prove more cost-effective than the German striker. With that cash injection from winning the league, it's certainly something they could pull off.
3. Manchester United
If any top-six Premier League club is going to show disregard for any financial uncertainties in the transfer market this summer, it's Manchester United.
Chelsea have already done so by adding Werner and Hakim Ziyech to their ranks and, with them still in pursuit of Kai Havertz, a move for Benrahma is unlikely. This gives United the perfect opportunity to swoop in and pick up another Championship signing.
Jadon Sancho still seems to be their priority option, but Benrahma could be an ideal fallback option at a friendlier price.
4. West Ham
The Irons would need to sell off some of their expensive flops of previous transfer windows before this could happen, but their erratic spending habits means it could happen.
As romantic as it would be for Benrahma to waltz into a top-six side, a move to a West Ham or similar is much more realistic. Here, he can be the main attraction and take the time to develop into the team's marquee man.
West Ham have already been linked with a move for him this summer, so it's not an unlikely scenario. That's if David Moyes doesn't step in and sign Marouane Fellaini again, of course. [Editor's note: they just signed Soucek, who's basically Young Fellaini]
5. Leicester City
While Leicester aren't exactly desperate for attacking additions on the surface, Benrahma could be the perfect move if they're forced into some sales this summer.
James Maddison exit speculation continues to circle, and the cash boost brought along by potential Champions League qualification could tempt the Foxes into the transfer.
It is, however, entirely dependant on that. If Leicester can get into the Champions League, the money is there to acquire the Algerian. Otherwise, it's unlikely.
