Agnieszka Radwanska brushed aside Belinda Bencic in straight sets to win the final of the Toray Pan Pacific Open and earn a return to the top 10 of the world rankings.

Swiss teenager Bencic defeated top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the semi-finals and would have moved into the top 10 for the first time with a victory over Radwanska in Tokyo.

The eighth-seeded 18-year-old could not manage it though as Pole Radwanska, the seventh seed, stormed to a 6-2 6-2 victory in under 90 minutes to clinch her first WTA title in over a year, and the 15th of her career.

Radwanska, a former world number two, said of the secret behind her victory on www.wtatennis.com: " I ran a lot!

"Belinda really pushed me to play 200 per cent, and the pressure was always in the back of my head. I knew I was playing one of the best players in the world, but this is the final and you just want to win, so you do whatever it takes to win every point."

She added: "I'm just so happy to be back in that top 10. It's very, very tight now. There are a lot of young players coming up, so many players who deserve to be top 10, so I'm just happy I can be number eight now."
