Novak Djokovic named Serbia's top athlete in 2013

Novak Djokovic, world No. 2 tennis player and winner of the Grand Slam tournament in Australia, has been named the best athlete of 2013 according to the Olympic Committee of Serbia (OKS).

The most successful team is the men’s volleyball team of Serbia, which won the bronze medal at the European Championship in Poland and Denmark.

The OKS also decided to present the award for the best young athlete to rower Andrija Sljukic, the winner of the silver medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships.

The OKS will make a decision on the best women’s team after the completion of the Women’s Handball World Championship held in Serbia, and it will depend on the results of Serbia’s team by the end of the tournament.

The traditional ceremony naming the best athletes, teams and coaches will be held at the House of the Serbian National Assembly on December 23.
