British number three Kyle Edmund is through to the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open.

Edmund set up a likely meeting with top seed Milos Raonic by beating Yen-Hsun Lu 6-3 3-6 6-2 after a long rain delay in Florida.

After an early exchange of breaks in the opening set, Edmund took Yen-Hsun's serve again to lead 4-2 and he managed to serve it out, fending off two break-back points.

Yen-Hsun, ranked 63 in the world, took it to a final-set decider with a single break of serve in the second but Edmund, who is eyeing a return to the British number two ranking, made a double breakthrough in the third to coast to victory.

He will play the world number four Raonic in the last eight if the Canadian can get past Croat Borna Coric.
