Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will meet third seed David Goffin in Sunday's final of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

Tsonga defeated number four seed Tomas Berdych, seeing off the Czech 6-3 6-4, while Goffin ended the run of French qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert with a 6-1 6-3 win.

It marked a 400th victory for the 31-year-old Tsonga, who took the opening set after breaking Berdych in game six.

Tsonga, the French world number 14 who is seeded sixth in Rotterdam, maintained his momentum by forcing an early break in the first game of the second set before moving 2-0 ahead and went on to secure a place in Sunday's final.

"It was a good match, played pretty solid on my serve, which is good for my game," Tsonga said afterwards on the official ATP Tour website.

"(I am) just really happy to be in the final, now it's the last step, and it's not an easy ones so I'm already focused on the next match."

Goffin, meanwhile, made sure he would not go the same way as second seed Dominic Thiem had done in the quarter-final against the 25-year-old Herbert, who looks set to see his current rank of 109 climb after his run to the last four.

The Belgian world number 11 took control of the opening set with two early breaks, and then again in the seventh game.

Goffin, who before this year had never won a match at the Rotterdam tournament, remained in control when he opened up a 3-1 lead in the second set.

Although Herbert saved two match points to hold his serve at 3-5, it was only delaying the inevitable as Goffin went on to close out a comfortable victory in one hour and 16 minutes .
