Johanna Konta set to face Naomi Osaka in Germany

Johanna Konta will face Naomi Osaka in the first round of the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart on Wednesday after the Japanese teenager won her final qualifier.

Osaka, 19, defeated Katharina Hobgarski 7-5 6-2 to set up her meeting with Konta, who heads to Germany after a turbulent weekend representing Great Britain at the Fed Cup in Romania.

Maria Sharapova, back from a 15-month doping back, is among those competing in Germany but world number four Dominika Cibulkova withdrew on Monday due to a wrist injury.

Jelena Ostapenko, Anett Kontaveit and Tamara Korpatsch also won their qualifiers on Monday to advance to the main competition.

Teenager Dayana Yastremska came from a set down to secure her first WTA Tour win over Andrea Petkovic at the BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup.

A runner-up in the Wimbledon girls' final last year, the 16-year-old Ukrainian defeated eighth seed Petkovic 3-6 6-0 6-3 to progress in Turkey.

Maria Sakkari also won, beating Danka Kovinic in straight sets, while Vic toria Kamenskaya and Basak Eraydin were among those to win their qualifiers.
