David Goffin crashes out to Malek Jaziri at Shenzhen Open

Second seed David Goffin crashed out of the Shenzhen Open after defeat to Tunisia's Malek Jaziri.

The Belgian, ranked 14 in the world, lost 7-6 (7/2) 3-6 6-2 to an opponent 41 places lower than him in the listings.

There were no such problems for third seed Richard Gasquet, who dropped just a single game in his 6-1 6-0 annihilation of Australia's Andrew Whittington, getting the job done in a mere 53 minutes.

Seventh seed Fabio Fognini also crashed out, losing in straight sets to Mischa Zverev, while there were wins for Thomas Fabbiano and Janko Tipsarevic.

Grigor Dimitrov cruised through to the third round of the Chengdu Open with a 7-6 (7/1) 6-4 straight-sets win over Dusan Lajovic.

Feliciano Lopez also enjoyed a safe passage as he beat Juan Monaco 6-5 7-5 while Russia's Karen Khachanov saw off Adrian Mannarino 3-6 6-3 6-1 and Diego Schwartzman downed Pablo Lorenzi 6-0 6-4.

There were four first-round matches to be completed after heavy rain on Tuesday and Marcos Baghdatis edged the tightest of encounters against Pablo Carreno-Busta, winning 6-7 (7/5) 7-6 (7/5) 7-6 (7/5).

Viktor Troicki, Alberto Ramos-Vinolas and Di Wu, who celebrated a first ATP Tour win, all advanced into the second round.
