Caroline Garcia blitzed Sara Errani inside an hour to storm into the quarter-finals of the Ericsson Open in Bastad.

The number three seed dropped only one game to win 6-1 6-0 in 54 minutes and set up a last-eight clash with the winner of Thursday's showdown between Holland's Kiki Bertens and Czech qualifier Barbora Krejcikova.

Garcia told wtatennis.com: "This clay is a little bit different than the one we're used to see, at the French Open for example.

"It's a little bit harder here to be in a defensive position here, so I tried to be very aggressive on every single shot. She had some trouble to run from side to side."

Also through to the quarter-finals are Anastasija Sevastova, Katerina Siniakova and Aleksandra Krunic.

Number two seed Sevastova swept past wildcard Elizaveta Kulichkova 6-2 6-3, Siniakova beat qualifier Arantxa Rus 7-6 (7/3) 6-4 and Krunic took out Viktoriya Tomova 7-5 6-4.

In China, Kristyna Pliskova overcame Su Jeong Jang 6-3 7-6 (7/4) to reach the last 16 of the Jiangxi Open.

Pliskova, twin sister of world number one Karolina, clinched victory on a second set tie-break after Jang had saved three match points.

Australia's Arina Rodionova was a 6-4 6-2 winner over Fangzhou Liu and Tereza Martincova, of the Czech Republic, beat Russia's Alla Kudryavtseva 7-5 2-6 6-4.
