Albert RamosVinolas and Viktor Troicki delayed by rain

Rain halted the progress of top-10 seeds Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Viktor Troicki at the Chengdu Open.

Ramos-Vinolas, seeded fifth, was 3-1 up in the final set against Michael Berrer while sixth seed Troicki was a set and a break up on Casper Ruud when the heavens opened in China.

Marcos Baghdatis and Pablo Carreno Busta were locked at 5-5 in the third set and all three matches will have to be completed on Wednesday.

In the action that got completed before the rain came, Kevin Anderson made light work of Jordan Thompson, dropping just six games in a 6-2 6-4 win, while eighth seed Pablo Lorenzi also prevailed, beating John Millman 6-4 3-6 6-1.

Dusan Lajovic triumphed 1-6 6-3 6-4 over Federico Delbonis, while Adrian Mannarino was a 6-4 6-7 (2/7) 6-4 victor over Denis Kudla.

Top 10 seeds Benoit Paire and Jiri Vesely made it safely through to the second round of the Shenzen Open.

Frenchman Paire, seeded sixth, was taken to three sets by Nikoloz Basilashvili before eventually triumphing 6-7 (5/7) 7-5 6-3 while eighth seed Vesely beat Pablo Andujar 6-2 7-6 (10/8)

There were also wins for Ryan Harrison, Janko Tipsarevic, Inigo Cervantes, Malek Jaziri, Mikhail Kukushkin and Thomaz Bellucci.
