Tim Taylor has replaced Nick Walshe as backs coach at Aviva Premiership club Gloucester.

The Cherry and Whites' former fly-half has stepped up from skills coach to replace ex-England Under-20s coach Walshe at the Kingsholm outfit.

"We're excited to confirm this afternoon that Tim Taylor has been appointed the club's new backs coach," Gloucester confirmed in a short statement on social media.

Taylor enjoyed the most fruitful spell of his playing career with Gloucester, following stints with Leicester and Nottingham, before being forced to retire in March 2014.

The 33-year-old joined the coaching staff after being forced into retirement, and has now stepped up to a frontline role among rugby director David Humphreys' staff.
