The Stormers claimed an attacking bonus point for only the second time this season as they hammered the Cheetahs 42-12 at DHL Newlands.
Seabelo Senatla's first-half brace gave them a vice-like grip on proceedings before further tries for Damian de Allende, Vincent Koch and Sikhumbuzo Notshe wrapped up the victory, with Demetri Catrakilis adding 17 points from the tee.
Despite topping the South African Conference, Allister Coetzee's Stormers side have come under fire recently for not crossing the whitewash enough and this was an emphatic response - albeit against Super Rugby's most porous defence.
Fly-half Catrakilis split the posts with an early penalty before wing Senatla touched down after just four minutes, finishing off a free-flowing move in the corner.
Catrakilis added the conversion and two further penalties to leave the shell-shocked Cheetahs 16-0 down after just 17 minutes.
The South African Conference's bottom side did show signs of life soon after, with Boom Prinsloo going over off the back of a maul and Joe Pietersen adding the extras, but Senatla crossed again to make it 23-7 at the interval with the help of Catrakilis' unerring boot once again.
Hopes of a surprise Cheetahs fightback were dented after just six minutes of the second half, with number eight Henco Venter sent to the sin bin for a high tackle on Stormers full back Cheslin Kolbe.
The hosts capitalised two minutes later as De Allende darted over from close range and Catrakilis split the posts again to make it 30-7 with half an hour remaining.
Koch drove over the line just after the hour mark to bag his first Super Rugby try and also secure an all-too-rare bonus point for the Stormers, before Notshe won a foot race to dot down shortly after. Catrakilis completed his fine display by converting the former before his replacement Kurt Coleman missed the latter.
Cheetahs substitute Carel Greef finished off a patient drive from the visitors to cross over as the clock wound down, with Pietersen missing the conversion, but the game was well over long before that.
