Irish fly-half Jonathan Sexton could be fit enough to face France in the Six Nations after being sidelined since November to recover from a series of concussions.

Sexton, who plays for Racing-Metro in Paris, may be in line to feature in the game on February 14 in Dublin, his French club said.

"Having seen a neurologist on Thursday in Paris, our Irish fly-half could return next Saturday," the club wrote on Twitter.

Irish press reports said Friday that the 29-year-old player had been cleared to return by the sport's ruling body, Worldrugby (the former International Rugby Board).

"It's a relief after 12 weeks of not playing. I have been given the green light by the doctors and I could be involved for France-Ireland," the 50-time capped player was quoted on the Racing Twitter feed.

Sexton last played on November 22 in the international against Australia were he suffered a series of head blows.

Since then, he has been allowed to train but banned from any contact or tackling.
