Scotland prop Alasdair Dickinson will make his first appearance of the season in Edinburgh's European Challenge Cup match at Stade Francais.

Dickinson has not played since Scotland's summer tour of Japan but comes straight in at loosehead for Saturday night's encounter at BT Murrayfield.

Viliame Mata and Hamish Watson return to the back row and Phil Burleigh and Mike Allen come into the midfield as acting head coach Duncan Hodge makes five changes following consecutive defeats by Dragons and Ospreys.

Hodge said: "The players have shown a real determination this week to try and rectify some of the problems we have seen in our last couple of performances. We have shown the potential this squad of players has - it is now about finding consistency for a full performance.

"Stade Francais are a huge club in European rugby and have some fantastic international players in their squad. They are a physical side and have some real attacking threats in the outside backs, so we need to be prepared for whatever they throw at us."
