Scarlets claimed their second win of the season as they defeated Treviso 22-6 to climb into seventh place in the Guinness PRO12 standings.

Second-half tries from Werner Kruger, DTH Van Der Merwe and Steffan Evans, a penalty and conversion from Rhys Patchell and a conversion by Aled Thomas saw the Welsh side claim victory.

Treviso had led 3-0 at half-time thanks to a penalty by Tommaso Allan after Alberto de Marchi had been sent to the sin bin before Patchell levelled shortly after the break.

Allan, who scored his side's only other points with the boot, edged the Italian side ahead with another penalty in the 46th minute.

Despite having David Bulbring sent to the sin bin shortly after, Scarlets crossed through Kruger with Patchell converting while they were down to 14 men.

Van Der Merwe added the second when they were back to full strength as Ian McKinley and Andrea Buondonno missed penalties for Treviso.

Evans added a third try for the visitors in the 80th minute with Thomas adding the extras.
