Injury doubtful Darius Boyd was named in the Queensland team on Monday for next week's State of Origin rugby league series opener against New South Wales in Sydney.

Winger Boyd suffered an ankle injury playing for his Newcastle Knights club on Sunday but there was no definite news on his availability as the team was announced in Brisbane.

Queensland, who have won the last seven Origin interstate series, received some good news ahead of the team announcement with scrum-half Cooper Cronk and prop forward David Shillington both cleared to play after escaping sanction from the National Rugby League's match review committee.

Cronk was placed on the referee's report while playing for Melbourne Storm for a lifting tackle on Saturday, while Shillington was penalised for a high tackle in Canberra's loss to Manly on the same night.

NSW suffered an injury blow on Monday when interchange player Kurt Gidley was ruled out with a foot injury and a replacement was to be named.

The first match in the three-match Origin series kicks off at Sydney's Olympic stadium on June 5.

Queensland (1-17) - Billy Slater; Darius Boyd, Greg Inglis, Justin Hodges, Brent Tate; Johnathan Thurston, Cooper Cronk; Matt Scott, Cameron Smith (capt), David Shillington, Nate Myles, Sam Thaiday, Ashley Harrison.
