Australia centre Greg Inglis is a huge worry for the upcoming Four Nations Series because of ankle ligament damage.
His club confirmed on Monday the 24-year-old suffered a grade two syndesmosis injury in South Sydney's defeat by Brisbane Broncos on Sunday and the NRL outfit expect him to be sidelined for at least four weeks.
The news means the former Melbourne Storm ace - player of the tournament on his last visit to England in 2009 - will not play again for them in 2011 and may even require surgery.
The Test and Queensland representative's absence could be felt when Souths need to beat Newcastle next Friday to secure a finals berth.
The Four Nations Series starts on October 28 when Inglis' Australia entertain Southern Hemisphere rivals New Zealand at Warrington's Halliwell Jones Stadium.
